A Moment of Science Please!

Most parents are happy to have left their science days back in school; some parents still love to geek out. Whatever your preference there is no denying that kids can still be engaged and excited by science, so this is a great way to keep them occupied and entertained. Specially during these socially isolated times.

  • If you have older kids – you can pick out the experiments and leave them to their own devices.·
  • If you have younger kids then this becomes more of a demonstration done by you, your partner or maybe a grandparent who is stuck at home along with you.
  • If you have a mix of older and younger kids, older ones (depending on how responsible you think they are) can demonstrate and teach the younger kids.
  • You could also ask your kids to put together a ‘Science Exhibition’ and yourselves, your parents and maybe even some aunts & uncles can come by to visit the exhibition – this is a good way to spread the project over a few days as they prepare their experiments and lay out their ‘exhibition space’.

The options are varied. So are the lists of science experiments – as a simple Google search will show. Honestly the idea of scrolling through all of these to find the right one can seem daunting.

So we have done some research for you, and after scrolling through many lists we have to say we like the Science Bob Series which comes with videos, clear explanations of how to do the experiment and the science behind the results.
